3 Can’t-Miss Village Theatre Performances

What’s not to love about Village Theatre in Everett, Washington?

You can see world-class stage productions without having to compete with big city traffic.

And, to make your date night complete, the theater is located in the heart of Downtown Everett so there are plenty of fine dining establishments nearby. You can also lodge overnight, if you’re traveling from out of town and want to grab a few drinks after an evening of entertainment.

This year the theatre celebrates 40 years of bringing top-tier entertainment to the North Puget Sound region.

Village Theatre’s 2020 lineup looks pretty solid. Here are three shows going on now and coming up in the next few months that are worth catching.

She Loves Me

This romantic comedy was the inspiration for “You've Got Mail.” This musical production about star-crossed lovers promises to sing with old school romantic charm, making it perfect for date night.

Hansel and Gretl and Heidi and Gunter

A twist on a classic fairy tale, this musical catches up with Gretl of fairytale fame, as she navigates life as a single mother in Chicago. An unexpected turn of events ushers her unsuspecting family back into a realm of magic...

The Wedding Singer

Based on that one movie from the 1990s about a washed-up performing artist from the 1980s. This comedy is a raucous and rollicking good time celebration of a bygone decade. Sounds fun!

When you go

Your best bets for nearby dining in Downtown Everett are Cafe UU, Capers + Olives, or (if you’re traveling by vehicle) catch a dinner on the waterfront at the Jetty Bar and Grille.

Make an evening of your stay with overnight accommodations at the downtown Courtyard Marriott, the Delta Hotel, or Hotel Indigo.

Even if you’re unable to catch a production this season, it’s worth having Village Theatre in Everett on your radar for your next visit to the Seattle area. Save their URL on your phone. Each season they bring new and classic productions to the stage, and making it to a play here is a bucket list item.
