Ah yes, life before the pandemic. Remember the fun summer stuff – music festivals and sports and just, uh, like, doing stuff in general?
Now that mask mandates have lifted in Washington State and vaccines and booster shots are readily available, most summer events are back on. Here’s our guide to the best of summer in Seattle NorthCountry 2022.
Music, Food, and Arts Festivals
For lovers of EDM and ambient jams, Summer Meltdown is a place to vibe out and camp with the homies. This year the beloved music festival will be at a new location along the Skykomish River. Info & tix here.
The Darrington Bluegrass Festival has been going strong for over forty years. And it’s back on this year! Held at the scenic Darrington Rodeo grounds, this pickathon is a celebration of the folk music brought to Darrington by itinerant loggers from North Carolina almost a century ago. Info & tix here.
For rockers and indie poppers, the Fisherman’s Village Music Festival is a love letter to what kids like. See top indie artists in intimate downtown venues. Tix here.
If you love a nice garden chill (who doesn't?) take your mom or green thumb roomie to Sorticulture. Held at Legion Park, you can buy lawn art, boutique landscaping goods, and get advice from expert botanists like Seattle’s own Cisco Morris. Info here.
Mark your calendar for the Everett Food Truck Festival and Upper Left Beer Festival. The dual event is still a few months off, but you'll want to get to downtown Everett for several dozen food trucks dishing up their best eats and all the craft brew you can delightfully sip.
Sports Events
The Glacier Peak 10K/Half Marathon takes you to into the Sauk River wilderness for a trail run in the backcountry that you’ll not soon forget. Check out more info here.
Colby Avenue in downtown Everett will be transformed into so many pickup games of hoops with the 3 on 3 basketball tourney in Everett. Get your team together, register here, and be prepared to lay up and jump shot your way for rewards!
