Everett Farmers Market
When you visit the Everett Farmers Market you get the best of Western and Eastern Washington. There are the vendors lining an urban street in a coastal city, selling juicy, delicious produce mostly grown on sunny farmland on the other side of the mountains. The result is a mix of culture and high-quality food, permeated by live music and the smells of fresh-baked bread, bouquets of flowers, and kettle corn.
The Everett Farmers Market can be found on Wetmore Avenue between Pacific and Hewitt from Mother’s Day through mid-October.

Lucky Dime
This small arts venue punches above its weight when it comes to rocking decibels and artsy vibes. You can’t miss the trademark red neon and checkered patio on Hewitt Avenue. Step inside and you’ll be immersed in visual art, disco ball sparkles, and the best of local music and travelling acts, performing hip hop, garage rock, metal, and folk. The bar sells bottles and cans, and the stage is small and close to the audience, making for intimate performances. Be sure to take a selfie in the graffiti-filled bathrooms with the red light bulbs – it's a thing.

Lowell Riverfront Park
I’m a big fan of free, low-key things to do. If you also value super chill things to do, then head to Lowell’s Riverfront Park for a mile-plus paved promenade along the Snohomish River. Step from under the alders and willows to the gravel paths that meander through cattails and yellow irises. Besides guaranteed views of the Cascades on a clear day, you’re likely to see a variety of local fauna, including blue herons, red winged black birds, river otters, harbor seals, and bald eagles. Or just sit and chill on a bench and watch the water roll past.

Hidden in plain sight: The Attic and Makario
The best places are places that you don’t expect to find.
If you’re not looking for The Attic, you may not know it's there. This well-curated vintage shop is located up a flight of stairs at the back of Secondhand Antiques on Hewitt Avenue. It’s filled with upcycled clothes, shoes, video games, magazines, records, and all the accessories. Seattle fashion at Everett prices. Almost too good to be true.

Makario Coffee is a similar situation – you could walk right by and miss some of Everett’s best coffee. Located in an unassuming row of shops on Colby Avenue, Makario’s tiny shop roasts their own beans and serves up lovingly crafted beverages that you simply won’t find anywhere else. Linger for a moment and soak up the bohemian decor: a welcome pause in the midst of any busy day.
