Darrington, Washington 98241
There are so many outstanding reasons to load up the rig and head to the Stilly-Sauk Valley for fun – outdoor fun, mostly. But now you round out our adventures with some indoor good times at Last Chance Casino and Bingo, recently opened by the Sauk-Suiattle tribe.
Drive six miles north of Darrington to get to the casino. Arrive, stretch your legs, and say hello. And what a hello you will receive- a downright genuine small town welcome awaits visitors.
The casino is, of course, brand new and bright, with flashing lights in every direction from 187 slot machines. Bigfoot Bingo sessions are on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Weekends are the busiest, with day-trippers coming in from Rockport, Concrete, and points further to join the local regulars.
Although they don’t yet have a liquor license, it’s expected by the end of August. Meanwhile, soft drinks are self-serve and on the house. At the Bennetville Cafe, the menu is casual and evolving; items are updated each week. The two-patty Bigfoot Burger, stacked high with fixings, comes with a generous pile of french fries. Seafood baskets and wraps are popular. The menu always has soup and salad choices. Once the lounge opens, more dining options will be added, too.
The Sauk-Suiattle people have lived in the shadow of Whitehorse Mountain for many generations, and it’s an area of abundant natural beauty, with recreation galore. Now, the tribe has added gaming to the itinerary for the next trip out.
Drive out to Last Chance expecting to have fun. You might make some new friends, too.
