Don't break the bank. Stay in Seattle NorthCountry.

Every year, Vancouverites head across the border to see the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Seattle Mariners. Both staying in and navigating Seattle can be a hassle (and not very kind to your wallet).

This year the Blue Jays are taking on the M’s in the Emerald City in a three-game series on the weekend of August 23-25.

Wanna go? You can skip the traffic and be thrifty by lodging in Seattle NorthCountry.

Where to Stay

Staying in Urban Basecamp will make your trip from Vancouver just that much shorter. Book a room in downtown Everett at the Courtyard by Marriott, the Hampton Inn, or just off of I-5 at the Delta Hotel. Downtown Everett is packed with restaurants and coffee shops for pre- and post-game party time.

The port town of Edmonds is a bit further south from Everett, and offers a downtown full of independently-owned shops and restaurants waiting to be explored. Stay at the Best Westen Plus to enjoy views of the Salish Sea while walking the beach and downtown. The Best Western is also close to Edmonds Station (211 Railroad Avenue).

How to Get to T-Mobile Park

Reservations are booked, but what’s the best way to get to T-Mobile Park? Seattle traffic is notoriously slow, so let someone else do the driving for you.

Bus and trains leave Everett via Everett Station (3201 Smith Avenue) and will get you to downtown Seattle via the 512 bus line. Staying in Edmonds? Take the 130 bus to Aurora Village Park and Ride, then transfer to the King County E line the rest of the way to the park.

On Sundays, the Sounder commuter train runs from both Everett and Edmonds stations, taking fans straight to T-Mobile Park. The train leaves Seattle 30 minutes after the game is over, so there’s never a worry about missing it. Learn more about the Sounder schedule.

Explore Seattle NorthCountry

A baseball game is just one thing to experience while staying in Seattle NorthCountry. Just north of Everett are the Seattle Premium Outlets, packed with outlet and retail stores from favorite brands like Nike, Armani Exchange, and Calvin Klein. In the same complex, the Tulalip Resort Casino offers slot machines, table games, entertainment, and both buffet and fine dining.

In Everett, take a five-minute ferry ride to Jetty Island to explore sandy beaches and play in the sun. Take a trip to the Funko HQ, creators of pop-culture figurines beloved the world over. Need more baseball in your life? Take in a game at Funko Field, home of the Mariners Single-A affiliate, the Everett AquaSox (fun fact: former AquaSox and current big-leaguers include Felix Hernandez and Mike Zunino).

Staying in Edmonds? You can’t go wrong with sampling local cheeses and wine at The Cheesemonger’s Table and walking on the Edmonds beach. Downtown Edmonds is home to 19 art galleries, as well as art supplies stores, and murals— so wherever you go you’ll be sure to find some kind of media to enjoy.
