But here’s a question: are you bringing a passport? A Woodinville Wine Country Passport, I mean. Award-winning wines are just a 12-mile jaunt down Highway 9. And with the Passport, you’ll have complimentary tastings at more than 40 wineries.
Try the walkable Hollywood district at the crossroads of Woodinville-Snohomish Road and NE 145th Pl. You’ll find boutique wineries alongside some of the region’s largest and most well-known. As you stroll along, stop for a bite without missing a beat; whether you prefer outdoor patios and fireplaces, a cozy, relaxed bar vibe or fine dining, you’ll come upon local dining choices to suit your style. The district’s centerpiece? Chateau Ste Michelle. The lush grounds and grand buildings invite you to linger; if the weather is agreeable, wander into the winery shop for picnic makings. Choose the complimentary 35-minute tour and tasting or one of the higher-end experiences (Winemaker for a Day, anyone?).

From there, more than a dozen nearby choices await. Tasting rooms are busiest on the weekends, but many are open mid-week, too. Patterson Cellars, Goose Ridge Estates Winery and Airfield Estates are all open daily (be sure to check hours at individual locations).

Avoid travel on Highway 9 during peak commuting hours (southbound from 6:00-9:00 a.m. and northbound from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.). Ride-sharing and taxi services are readily available. (locals recommend AAA Taxi). Prefer to district hop in your own car, but everyone wants to imbibe? Main Street Drivers will supply a driver to get you around safely in your own vehicle.
You’ll find bed and breakfasts plus Airbnb and VRBO choices from local hosts in and around Snohomish. The motel-style Inn at Snohomish is walking distance from downtown.
The 30-mile Centennial Trail starts right in Snohomish, and the Paradise Valley Conservation Area is just a short drive away, with 13 miles of trails within the 793-acre area. And, if you didn’t bring your own wheels, inquire with Bicycle Centres Snohomish. Their second location will soon open with bikes and ebikes for rent.
It’s not really a question of where to eat in Snohomish, but how many locally-owned places you can manage to hit. Just a few of special mention: Snohomish Bakery, with goods baked daily; the Center Public House, where you can eat and drink philanthropically; and the Trails End Trailhouse, where it’s hard to beat their well-executed classic BLT and crisp, house-made potato chips.
