Cast bronze sculpture by Robert Cooke, and gifted by the Edmonds Art Festival Foundation to the city in 1998. Located at Brackett’s Landing South, Edmonds.
A gift of the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, the cast bronze sculpture depicts children in a small boat built from driftwood and other flotsam they collected on the beach. The sculpture was cast using sandcast and lost wax process. Cooke began work as a professional sculptor in 1980 following a career in engineering and resource development in the marine environment. He works with figurative cast bronze emphasizing wildlife subjects and the human form, and more abstracted works utilizing a variety of media including wood, stone, concrete and various metals.
