Reiter Foothills Forest ORV Trails
The 10,000 acre Reiter Foothills Forest is a continuous block of forest land located between Gold Bar and Index providing 4 miles of single-track trail, 2 miles of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trail, and over two miles of challenging 4 X 4 trails with a high density of obstacles. These trails set a new standard for sustainable built ORV trails with quick and easy access to challenge areas, including a 9-acre bike trails area. Reiter Road is part of the Old Highway 2 system. Enjoy the scenic narrow lane as it twists and turns to match the contour of the mountains and river.
Open on weekends Memorial Day to Labor Day Friday 4pm to 7pm, Saturday & Sunday 9am to 7pm.

Access: Just east of Gold Bar you’ll turn north from Highway 2 onto the Reiter Road. To access the ORV area or go to the Town of Index keep right after about ½ mile to stay on Reiter Road. Look for the Deer Flats signs 3.8 miles from Highway 2 to get to the ORV area which is about 5 miles up Reiter Road accessed through Deer Flats main Line. A Discover Pass is required and available at the Sky Valley Visitor Center. DNR has constructed trails setting a new standard for sustainably built ORV trails with quick and easy access to challenge areas, including a ten acre trials bike area.
