Welcome to Seattle NorthCountry!
Have you seen “Seattle NorthCountry” online or around town? It’s Snohomish County’s new visitor facing brand!
This new look and design creates an immediate sense of our geographic location in the world and a sense of outdoor recreation without being limited to it. The brand speaks to our ideal visitor: those who seek mental and physical wellness, who will steward our land and resources, and appreciate the character of our people, towns, mountains, valleys, and shorelines.
Editorial and digital content will showcase events and must-see experience as “Trip Inspiration” and guide visitors to adventures and discoveries as “Land of Loops” throughout the regions of Snohomish County.

WTMA Board & First Meeting
In July, Governor Jay Inslee announced the selection of nine representatives to the Washington Tourism Marketing Authority (WTMA).
The following industry representatives will serve up to four-year terms:
Anthony Anton, President and CEO, Washington Hospitality Association, Pierce County
Jodi Kaylerm, VP of Marketing and Communications, Spokane Sports Commission, Spokane County
Robert Lerch, Director of Sales, EAN Holdings Inc. (Enterprise Rent A Car, National, and Alamo), Island County
Marsha Massey, Executive Director, Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau, Clallam County
Vijay Patel, President, A-1 Hospitality Group, Benton County
Rob Sendak, Director of External Affairs, Washington Wildlife & Recreation Coalition, King County
Judy Tuohy, Executive Director, Schack Art Center, Snohomish County
Tiffany Turner, CEO, Adrift Hotels Inc., Pacific County
Cynthia Verge, Executive Director, Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, Skagit County
Four lawmakers, selected by their respective caucuses, are also on the board:
Rep. Bill Jenkin (R) - 16th District
Rep. Cindy Ryu (D) - 32nd District
Sen. Dean Takko (D) - 19th District
Sen. Maureen Walsh (R) - 16th District
The first board meeting, held on Thursday, Aug. 30, included work to install the Board of Directors, elect officers, form appropriate committees, establish a private local account for authority finances, and discuss plans for contracting for marketing services.
The WTMA is responsible for contracting for statewide tourism marketing services that promote tourism on behalf of the citizens of the state, and for managing the authority’s financial resources.
