The Snohomish County Destination Alliance (SCDA) formalizes the facilitation provided by the Snohomish County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT), bringing lodging entities, attractions and other businesses; non-profit recreation and conservation organizations; local, state, county, and federal governments; public agencies; federally recognized tribes; and community members together around county-wide efforts and the newly formed experiential visitor regions in Snohomish County.
The SCDA and SCPRT are jointly tasked with county-led tourism efforts, and over the past three years (2015-2018), the organizations have led numerous workshops, focus groups, grass-roots roundtables, coalitions and engagement sessions with the local industry to assist with regional planning, marketing and efforts to keep things sustainable.
“We heard from the industry very clearly in 2018, that they want to pursue collaborative destination management, as the road to a preferred tourism future. Populations are rising, commercial air service is coming online, and our industry sees the opportunities associated with this growth and that is where the SCDA comes in."
