Performers include LAKE, Cumulus, Heavy Bloom, Neon Brass Party, RNNRS, and No Recess.
Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring picnic lunches, folding chairs, and blankets to enjoy the music in comfort. Ice cream and food trucks will be on-site offering frozen treats and foods for purchase.
FAQs
Rain or shine?
Rain or shine! We have a covered stage and covered shelters are available.
Is it actually free? How?
Great question. Yes, it's 100% free, including parking. This event is brought to you by the Snohomish County 1% for the Arts Fund. This fund is stewarded by the county's Arts Commission. Public money for the arts is going to local artists and artisans as part of this event. Be sure to thank the musicians and food truck chefs who contribute their work to the local creative economy!
What's the creative economy?
The "creative economy" refers to paid jobs for artists of all kinds -- graphic designers, musicians, sculptors, web developers, and more. The Creative Economy in Washington State generates $43.2B a year and makes up a whopping 8.7% of the state's GDP. This is why we aim to pay artists fair wages for their work: what's good for artists is good for the local economy! Learn more here -- Creative Economy - ArtsWA
Why Kayak Point?
The north part of Snohomish County has been historically underserved when it comes to public art. We wanted to produce a festival that wasn't urban, but rather drew folks to a more rural area. Plus, have you seen Kayak Point? It's so beautiful!
How can I get involved?
Want to volunteer? You're the best!
Reach out to Richard via email and mention "Kayak Point volunteer" in the subject line: richard.porter@snoco.org
What was that about parking?
Parking is free but limited to 400 spaces. It's highly recommended that you carpool if you plan to bring friends and family.
The Lineup
This event is made possible through collaboration between the Snohomish County Arts Commission, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Discover Snohomish County, and the offices of county councilmembers Nate Nehring and Megan Dunn.
