Overall record in 36 seasons was 287 – 87. As of 2010, this record ranked 2nd in the state amongst football coaches. At Cascade High, his teams won 10 conference championships and the state title in 1991. After retiring in 1999 from Cascade High, he returned to coaching at Arch Bishop Murphy where he started the football program and his teams won the state 1A championships in 2002 and 2003. He also served as athletic director during most of his tenure there. Other accomplishments/honors:

  • 1973, selected as Everett Herald “Man of the Year in Sports”
  • 1996, inducted into the Washington state Football Coaches Hall of Fame
  • 1999, selected as Seattle Times “Coach of The Century”
  • 2008, selected by Everett Herald as Snohomish County’s “Most Successful Coach of All-Time ”
  • 2010, inducted into Cascade High School’s Coaches Hall of Fame
