Matt Surina is a five-time Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) National Champion from Everett, Washington. Perhaps the most memorable of Matt’s five championships came in the 1995 season. In 1995, Matt won the American Bowling Association (ABA) National Singles Championship, the largest bowling tournament in the world. Matt’s wife Joyce promised to marry him if he won that tournament, and following his championship they were wed at the National Bowling Stadium on the same pair of lanes on which he bowled his title winning games.

In addition to the memorable 1995 season, Matt won four Professional Bowling Association National Championships, and in 2005 he won the National Professional Bowlers Association Senior Tour by defeating PBA Hall of Fame bowler, Tom Baker, in the Tucson Open. Surina’s 2005 championship win was by a total of 9 pins spread over 3 games. Dropping the first game of the best-of-three series, Surina rebounded to win two games in a row to secure the championship, defeating Baker two games to one. Surina is also a 10-time PBA Regional Champion. He also coordinated the Ladies Pro Bowlers Regional Tournaments for 10 years. Matt currently operates the Matt Surina Pro Shop at Daffodil Bowl in Puyallup. From the Puyallup lanes, Matt professionally fits and drills bowling balls, teaches professional lessons for beginners and advanced players, and offers clinics and camps for bowlers of all ages.
