Shane Pahukoa

Shane is a 1989 Marysville-Pilchuck High graduate. FOOTBALL: 3-year letterman, and twice All-Conference 1st Team running back & free safety. As a senior, WESCO Player of the Year, Washington All State, Seattle Times All State, and rushed for 1,068 yards & scored 19 TDs. BASKETBALL: 3-year letterman, 2-year starter, and leader of the team to 1987 State 4th place and 1988 State 5th place. As a senior, averaged 11.4 points/game. BASEBALL: 2-year letterman.

At University of Washington (UW), he was one of three true freshman in his class to earn playing time. While there, the team was 39-9. He started 29 games at free safety and was part of a defense considered among the best in PAC 10 history. Shane is one of the most valuable defensive players in Husky history. He was PAC-10 All-Academic 1st Team in 1991 and All PAC-10 2nd Team Free Safety in 1991 & ‘92. That year, UW won the 1992 Rose Bowl (Michigan 34-14) and won the 1991 National Championship.

As a senior, his teammates voted him defensive co-captain. He helped lead the Huskies to a 9-3 record and a 3rd straight Rose Bowl (lost to Michigan, 38-31). He wore a cast all season due to a broken hand but was still 4th on the team with 58 tackles. After the UW, he signed with the New Orleans Saints and played three years as a special teams starter and an occasional starter at free safety. He had a big game against the New England Patriots and Drew Bledsoe, former Washington State QB, making 10 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Other honors include: 1) 1992, Everett Herald Man of the Year in Sports and, 2nd Team All- American by College & Pro Football Newsday, 2) Husky Hall of Fame - member of 1991 National Championship team and, 3) 2005, honored as a HUSKY LEGEND at a Notre Dame vs. Husky game.

Shane and his family reside in the LA area. He and his wife, Kendra, design and manufacture furniture.
