The streets of Sultan come alive with a street fare, car and motorcycle show, parades, fireworks, live music, and the annual heart stopping-logging show in which loggers fly up poles, attack an obstacle course with a chainsaw, and throw axes. The Sky Valley has a rich and colorful logging history—and many of these competitors are still active in the industry.
Whether you are into street rods and antiques—both custom and stock—or the big rigs which proudly reflect the Pacific Northwest’s long history and deep culture in the trucking industry, the Show & Shine Car/Truck Show is your event to roam the rides. This annual show has long attracted a wide range of enthusiasts and takes place over one weekend each summer.
The Sky Valley Farm Festival takes place every second Saturday in October at two featured farms. The Rivers End Cattle Ranch treats visitors to horse rides, a giant apple slingshot, guided wagon tours, and rope swinging in the hayloft. At the third generation Groeneveld’s Dairy Farm, visitors learn about milk and cheese with guided tours and informational booths.
Every fourth Saturday in September the town of Sultan hosts a celebration of nature and community featuring the return of salmon to Osprey Park with viewing tours, salmon and frybread, live music, vendors, children’s activities, watershed education, plains-style drumming and round-dances, and the Salmon Run 5K Cross Country Trail Fun Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk.
The second annual Bigfoot Art Festival will be held July 3rd, 2021. The inaugural event was held at the Espresso Chalet, just off Highway 2, near Gold Bar, WA, where this year’s event is schedule to be held once again. With a host of local art on display, food and drinks, and Mr. Spock, it’ll be a great way to start your 4th of July weekend.
Travel to a time when the simple pleasures of a small-town gathering was the highlight of the summer at the annual Gold Dust Days & Classic Car Show. Experience old-fashioned fun like a gunny sack race against a firefighter or a chance to hula hoop your way to victory. Plus catch a craft fare featuring locally made products, live entertainment, and food trucks.
