The Attic Offers Elevated Vintage in Downtown Everett

As a vintage grandma sweater enthusiast, I couldn't wait to visit The Attic, Everett’s newest vintage destination. Located on the upper floor of an antique shop in downtown Everett, this store is a treasure trove of fun fashion from decades past, including my favorite grandma sweaters.

Snohomish County locals Cooper Swinburnson and Miles Mares came together to open the shop in February 2025. The pair frequented the Seattle flea market scene and noticed a gap in the market. While Seattle and Bellingham were full of vintage clothing stores, Swinburnson explained, Everett had none. They saw an opportunity to bring something special to their community. On opening the shop, Swinburnson says he and Mares “wanted to bring more of a curated and affordable secondhand vintage shop to the Everett area.”

The location they chose holds special significance for Swinburnson, who used to visit the antique store on the lower level with his grandma when he was younger. When he and Mares decided to open their vintage shop, they collaborated with the antique shop owner to transform the building’s upper floor into The Attic, a process that took 1.5 months. This collaboration has been beneficial for both businesses; the antique store's established customer base, combined with new vintage shoppers, has increased traffic to both shops.

Now, let’s dive into the fun part—the clothes! The Attic features 15 different vendors, each with their own curated style, offering a wide variety of clothing and accessories. From classic denim and t-shirts to dresses, jackets, sunglasses, shoes, pins, and everything in between, there's something for everyone.

The Attic focuses on curating clothes and accessories from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, so no matter your fashion interests, they’ve got you covered. After my first visit, I left with some fantastic additions to my vintage collection. I found three fabulous 80s and 90s grandma sweaters, one of which features bedazzled multi-colored coyotes wearing bandanas. Need I say more?

Whether you’re on the hunt for a statement piece or simply browsing for fashion inspiration, The Attic is a must-visit vintage paradise in Everett. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. They are closed on Mondays. Happy shopping!
