In 2018, the local industry established a shared vision for a preferred future after work-shopping plausible outcomes of unmanaged tourism. In the preferred future of 2030, Seattle NorthCountry would bustle with regional-scale visitor experiences, powered by local communities that would cross-connect the industry, people and places of our diverse county.
This preferred future could only manifest by thinking about things differently. It would mean finding a way to share resources, plan for growth and create a thriving network of engaged industry partners. It would mean finding a way to work together to collaboratively manage the destination of Snohomish County.
But how could we link such an industry in our diverse landscape of over 2,000 square miles? Enter the Snohomish County Tourism Alliance (SCTA), established in early 2019.
Designed for people with curious minds, and a passion for local tourism, the Alliance is open-to-all. We acknowledge these local collaborators as Destination Managers, each with a vital function in this destination-place, we call home.
The Alliance mantra speaks to what we have in common, and what we care most about: Connecting communities and visitors through love of place.
